Tyler Bass is not mentioned in the supplied ESPN report, creating an important distinction for readers searching for the latest news about the Buffalo Bills kicker. Instead, the report focuses on Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Tyler Huntley, who produced a dramatic overtime comeback against the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 12, 2026.
Because the source material contains no update involving Bass, there is no verified information here about his health, performance, roster status or the Bills’ kicking situation. The confirmed NFL storyline is Baltimore’s thrilling 30-23 victory and Huntley’s ability to step up while Lamar Jackson was sidelined with a sprained left ankle.
Tyler Bass News: What the Supplied Report Actually Says
The ESPN article, written by Jamison Hensley, describes Huntley rewarding the Ravens’ confidence with the most clutch performance of his seven-year career. Baltimore entered the game without Jackson, its starting quarterback and two-time NFL MVP, but rallied behind its backup to improve to 4-1.
Huntley struggled to find his rhythm early. He completed 11 of 18 passes for 97 yards during the first half, leaving the Ravens in a difficult position against Atlanta. However, his performance changed dramatically after halftime.
Huntley completed 13 of his final 14 passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns. During the final two drives, he went 11-for-11 for 80 yards, delivering with precision as the pressure intensified.
Huntley’s Explosive Finish Powers Baltimore
The Ravens trailed 30-23 late in regulation before Huntley engineered a crucial scoring drive. With 40 seconds remaining, he connected with wide receiver Devontez Walker on a seven-yard touchdown pass to tie the game. Running back Derrick Henry then converted the two-point attempt, sending the contest to overtime.
Huntley remained composed in the extra period. He converted third downs with passes to Mark Andrews and Zay Flowers before finishing the game himself with a one-yard quarterback sneak. The 14-play possession became the NFL’s longest overtime touchdown drive in eight years, according to the ESPN report.
Coach Jesse Minter praised Huntley’s calm demeanor after the game, saying the quarterback “doesn’t really get rattled.” Minter added that Huntley grew more confident as the game became more important.
Why the Tyler Bass Search Needs Careful Verification
For fans looking specifically for Tyler Bass news, the supplied article should not be treated as a Bass update. The kicker does not appear in the story, and there are no details about Buffalo, field goals, special teams or his current status.
This distinction matters because NFL coverage often includes several players with similar first names, especially when articles are pulled into broad search results. Tyler Huntley and Tyler Bass play completely different positions and are associated with different teams. Huntley is a quarterback for Baltimore, while Bass is known for his role as a kicker for the Buffalo Bills.
- Tyler Huntley: Baltimore Ravens quarterback who started in place of Lamar Jackson.
- Tyler Bass: Buffalo Bills kicker, not mentioned in the supplied report.
- Confirmed result: Baltimore defeated Atlanta 30-23 in overtime.
- Key injury note: Lamar Jackson missed the game because of a left ankle sprain.
Ravens Gain Confidence Without Jackson
The victory strengthened Baltimore’s position in the AFC North. The Ravens moved to 4-1 and opened a one-game lead atop the division. It also reinforced the organization’s belief that Huntley can keep the offense competitive when Jackson is unavailable.
Huntley has now started six of the Ravens’ seven games missed by Jackson, and Baltimore is 7-11 overall in games without its star quarterback. Players said the locker room never lost faith in the backup.
Henry recalled encouraging Huntley to bring back the form he showed during Baltimore’s 2025 win over the Green Bay Packers. Huntley responded with a performance that was even more dramatic, leading a fourth-quarter comeback and an overtime finish.
Jackson was visible on the sideline throughout the game, supporting Huntley and offering advice. The Ravens have not announced a timetable for Jackson’s return. If Huntley starts again against the Cleveland Browns, teammates believe he has earned another opportunity to lead.
